YESS Network is led by an Executive Team composed of two to five members, each dedicating a minimum of one hour per week to YESS affairs. The Executive Team serves for a term of 18 months, followed by a six-month transition period to support the incoming team.
Responsibilities of the Executive Team
The Executive Team is responsible for overseeing the coordination and strategic direction of YESS. Its key responsibilities include:
- Organizing team meetings at least once every four months.
- Managing general coordination and administrative tasks, including membership oversight, communication, updates, and email correspondence.
- Supporting YESS member activities and engagement.
- Identifying, discussing, and developing new initiatives for YESS.
- Evaluating the relevance of existing roles and establishing new positions or task forces as needed.
- Facilitating effective communication between the Executive Team and YESS members to ensure inclusive participation.
- Encouraging member involvement in identifying new activities and network improvements.
- Hosting an annual online plenary meeting for all YESS members.
- Organizing and overseeing the annual YESS nominations process.
YESS members are encouraged to propose topics or initiatives for the Executive Team to consider and contribute to their implementation.
Nomination/election of the YESS Executive Team
Members of the Executive Team are nominated or elected for a 1.5-year term (18 months), with the possibility of re-nomination or re-election. A six-month transition period follows each term to ensure continuity.
The nomination process takes place in either June or December, depending on the start date of the outgoing team.
Eligibility and Process:
- All YESS members are eligible to nominate themselves, including current or former Executive Team members.
- Candidates must submit a short statement outlining their motivation and vision for YESS’s development.
- Once nominations are collected, the process ensures that all positions are filled. If the number of candidates is fewer than the number of available positions, a renewed call for nominations may be issued. If there are more candidates than positions, an election is held.
- Elections are conducted online using a survey tool to ensure a transparent and inclusive selection process.
