The Ecosystem Services Partnership (ESP) is a global network of scientists, policy makers and practitioners on all continents that are collaborating in a peaceful manner for a better future of our environment and people. Now, as we are faced with a rapid development of unbelievable violence following the invasion of Russian troops on the Ukrainian territory, we are reminded again that armed conflicts cause a tremendous impact on so many lives worldwide. Our compassion is with the high number of people taken out of their normal life, injured or killed. Warfare is bringing terrible affliction to people, with long-term and far-reaching consequences. Warfare is also destroying biodiversity, ecosystems and our natural capital, which jeopardises ESP’s mission to further enhance the application of ecosystem services for nature conservation, ecosystem restoration and sustainable management. Therefore, ESP is calling its members and all people for peaceful and constructive solutions of conflicts and to promote sustainable interactions of humans and nature.
ESP connects over 3000 ecosystem services scientists, policy makers and practitioners who work together in more than 40 Working Groups and a growing number of National Networks on all continents. ESP regularly organises World and Regional conferences and provides many Services to further enhance the application of ecosystem services for nature conservation, ecosystem restoration and sustainable management. Partner up with ESP and join in the global effort for the future of our Natural Capital!
