The landmark reports launched by IPBES present major challenges to human well-being and highlight options to protect and restore nature and its vital contributions to people.

Biodiversity – the essential variety of life forms on Earth – continues to decline in every region of the world, significantly reducing nature’s capacity to contribute to people’s well-being. This alarming trend endangers economies, livelihoods, food security and the quality of life of people everywhere, according to four landmark science reports released recently, written by more than 550 leading experts, from over 100 countries. ACES 2018: Call for abstracts

Call for abstracts is open for the ACES 2018 conference in Washington DC on 3-7 December 2018. Submission deadline: 4 June 2018. The conference is hosted by ACES: A Community on Ecosystem Services, along with Ecosystem Markets and the Ecosystem Services Partnership(ESP).

Concepts and tools to engage in knowledge co-production and public participation

This summer school will take place in Montpellier, France between 9-13 July 2018. It is a 5-day interactive training course designed and organized by a small international team of experts – researchers and practitioners of participatory approaches. The training is based on “learning by doing” principle that makes it possible for the participants to test what they learn on-the-spot and get immediate feedback.
