We kindly invite you to the Interdisciplinary Summerschool on Integrating Ecosystem Services into Urban Planning, which will take place in Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic, 3rd week of June 2019.
News frequently report about “European heat wave”, “natural disaster”, or “species extinction”. Such issues are the consequences of urbanization and land use intensification; they show how far we are apart from a sustainable use of nature. These challenges can be counteracted by two innovative concepts, namely on ecosystem services and green infrastructure.
This summer school is going to share the existing knowledge about ecosystem services and green infrastructure. It will enable their mapping and assessment during field work, excursions and GIS sessions right up to monetary evaluation. Students find a forum to discuss their experience within an international, multidisciplinary team and to apply their results to the recent challenges of urban planning and management. The Summerschool is open for university students from all countries.
