The ESP Bulgarian National Network will hold special sessions on Ecosystem services, monitoring and interdisciplinary research within the forthcoming anniversary conference “90 years Forest Research Institute, BAS – for the Society and Nature” organizedby the Forest Research Institute – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The event will take place in Sofia, Bulgaria from October 24-26, 2018 and the conference programme is now available. The sessions will be chaired and moderated by the ESP members Assoc. Prof Svetla Bratanova-Doncheva (IBER-BAS), Assoc. Prof. Stoyan Nedkov (NIGGG-BAS), Assoc. Prof. Bilyana Borissova (Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”) and research assistant Nikolina Gribacheva (FRI-BAS). The presentations will refer to various topics and will cover GIS and remote sensing techniques for mapping and assessment of ecosystem services, the process of the MAES implementation in Bulgaria as well as different approaches in management and monitoring of the forest ecosystems.
