The EU Horizon 2020 project ESMERALDA, involving several ESP members and ESP itself as a full project partner, gathered around 100 delegates from altogether 30 European countries, representatives of the European Commission and other relevant organizations at its final Conference from June 11-13, 2018 in Brussels. On the first day, together with the EU MAES (Mapping and Assessment of Ecosystems and their Services) working group, a marketplace was organized to demonstrate different methods and tools for mapping and assessing ecosystem services.
The second day was dedicated to ESMERALDA’s inputs for policy and decision making and was opened by presentations from project Coordinator Benjamin Burkhard (Leibniz Universität Hannover) and the Directors of EU Directorates-General Research and Innovation and Environment. On the third day, the scientific results of the project were presented and their connectivity for further activities was discussed.
