Introduction
The National Ecosystem Services Partnership (NESP) engages both public and private individuals and organizations to enhance collaboration within the ecosystem services community and to strengthen coordination of policy, market implementation, and research at the national level. The partnership is an initiative of Duke University’s Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions and was developed with support and donations of expertise and time from many public and private institutions. In partnership with a number of federal agencies, NESP developed an online guidebook for incorporating ecosystem services into agency planning processes. The guidebook and other products produced by NESP examine how federal agencies are exploring or applying the ecosystem services concept and provide a framework and methodology that can help enhance consistency and credibility of its application.
