The sourcebook aims to inform which data and methods can be applied to monitor some relevant Essential Biodiversity Variables (EBV) that supports the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (UNCBD) efforts to halt biodiversity loss. The EBV concept proposed by the GEO BON, Space Agencies, and the Earth Observation research community at large aims to support efforts for biodiversity monitoring.

This interdisciplinary toolkit on completing and using ES assessment for decision making was produced by Value of Nature to Canadians Study Taskforce and the Federal, Provincial, and Territorial Governments of Canada. Lead authors Susan M.
