Analyzing Carbon Stocks in a Mediterranean Forest Enterprise: A Case Study from Kizildag, Turkey
The highlights in this new publication are:
- Forests, grasslands, and agricultural areas are the primary deposits of carbon.
- Forests have an enormous storage capacity of carbon compared to other terrestrial ecosystems.
- The vast majority of carbon stocked in soil component for each land use/land cover classes.
- Special attention should be paid for soil carbon studies.
- Negative effects of climate change can be reversed by proper forest management.

Ecosystem Services Reference Framework
Researchers from 13 Embrapa (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation) units prepared a document that aims to support actions related to ecosystem services in Brazil. The Ecosystem Services Reference Framework (Marco Referencial em Serviços Ambientais – MRSE) is a pioneer publication in the country and can help technicians, producers, scientists and society in general to understand and apply the concepts and approachs of this topic. The publication is available only in Portuguese and can be download on pdf and epub formats.

Evaluating and communicating cultural ecosystem services
Integrating cultural ecosystem services into decision-making has been under-considered due to a number of key methodological gaps. The multidisciplinary demand of effective cultural ecosystem services research is one reason for this situation. This paper provides and tests a framework of complementary methods and presents an integrated evaluation and communication strategy for cultural ecosystem services.
