New publication on urban ecosystem services
A new article has recently been published in the Journal of Environmental Monitoring and Assessment entitled “Urban ecosystem services delivered by green open spaces: an example from Nicosia City in North Cyprus”.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the major urban ecosystem services delivered by a number of green open spaces (e.g. home garden, park, and square) and their contributions to the components of human wellbeing in four selected sites located in the city of Nicosia, Cyprus.

Fully funded PhD studentship: exploring social impacts of Protected Areas
This PhD studentship is announced as part of the project FIDELIO funded by a European Research Council starting grant. The project aims to develop a framework that will assist in the better understanding of human perceptions for social impacts of protected areas in Europe and focuses on four case studies. The PhD will contribute to the development of this framework and will also include an in-depth exploration of social impacts of Protected Areas in one of the case studies in Estonia, the Matsalu National Park.
