The COST Action Payments for Ecosystem Services (Forest for water) is organising its first training school on the topic: Environmental effectiveness of forest PES schemes to reduce agricultural diffuse pollution to water. The WaterCoG project invites you to participate in a survey on stakeholder involvement in water management.
The Interreg NorthSea VB project WaterCoG implements collaborative processes in five countries to test how the implementation of EU directives can be achieved at a local level in the North Sea Region. This aims also to raise awareness on the benefits generated by water related ecosystems and show if / how they can be better realized in processes actively involving local and regional stakeholders. ES as a tool for smart solutions – a special session at Smart Geography conference
The South-East Europe Regional chapter and Bulgarian National Network of ESP are organizing a special session “Ecosystem services as a tool for smart solutions of human-environmental problems” at the International conference “Smart Geography” to be held in Sofia University, Bulgaria, 2-4 November 2018. The session aims to bring together researcher from different disciplines to discuss techniques for spatial modelling and mapping ecosystem services as well as their application in decision making. Researchers and practitioners are invited to share their experience in different spatial aspects of ecosystem services. The deadline for abstract submission is June 30. Call for Papers in STOTEN: Ecosystem Services in a Changing Environment
This special issue explores ES oriented concepts, methodologies and models addressing environmental and socio-economic drivers of change that are responsible for alterations in ES supply, this also embraces integration of ES into risk and (cumulative) impact assessment. Contributions are horizontal to all biomes (terrestrial, freshwater and marine) and cover all geographical scales (regional to global). Submission deadline 31 July.
