Public green spaces provide essential benefits supporting people’s health and well-being as well as triggering environmental attachment and stewardship, eventually resulting in a positive impact on the ecosystem as a whole. For these reasons, a research developed within URBAG, a larger research project at the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA-UAB), which investigates how green infrastructures contribute to urban sustainability, aims to understand the perceived benefits people obtain from public green spaces. Call for papers: Assessing cultural ecosystem services through crowdsourced data from social media
The special issue in Ecosystem Services will (1) explore conceptual frameworks for using social media data in the assessment of ecosystem services; (2) highlight the current methodological research frontiers and demonstrate state-of-the-art approaches, (3) tackle data related biases; and (4) discuss ethical and procedural standards for crowdsourced data use. Survey of the relationships between costs, precision, and impacts of Ecosystem Services Valuation (ESV) Studies
Participate in this survey to help create a roadmap to help policy makers to balance their available resources and required level of precision to achieve maximum impact from ESV studies. To do this, a database is being created of existing studies that includes their approximate cost, precision, and impact. Authors of ESV studies can answer a questionnaire to help flesh out this database.
