IPBES is currently in the process of developing its next work programme, following the process set out in decision IPBES-6/2 (see here).
This is a reminder that IPBES members, observers, multilateral environmental agreements, United Nations bodies and relevant stakeholders as well as experts on, and holders of, indigenous and local knowledge are invited to provide requests, inputs and suggestions, respectively, on short term priorities and longer term strategic needs for the future work programme of IPBES by 30 September 2018 (please find the call issued on 11 July 2018, with link to template for response here).
The MEP and Bureau will be meeting from 22 to 26 October 2018 to prioritize the requests, input and suggestions received and to further discuss the draft strategic framework for the next IPBES work programme based on the submissions received earlier this year in response to an earlier call (see here). Following their meetings, the MEP and Bureau will develop, from these two efforts, a first draft of the next IPBES work programme. IPBES members, observers and stakeholders will be invited to provide written comments on this first draft later this year. A further revised draft work programme will then be prepared for consideration by the Plenary at IPBES 7.
