Within the Horizon Europe project SELINA (2022-2027) we want to establish a community of practice on biodiversity and ecosystem services (or nature’s contributions to people’s wellbeing in a broader sense) in every European member state. A community of practice (CoP) is a group of people who share a common concern, a set of problems, or an interest in a topic and who come together to fulfill both individual and group goals. CoP´s focus on sharing best practices and creating new knowledge to advance a domain of professional practice. Interaction on an ongoing basis is an important part of this. Off course we want to start from existing networks.
Our goal is to find projects that are the seeds of change in mainstreaming biodiversity and ecosystem services approaches into all kind of policy processes in different fields. We want to learn from them and see how we can tackle possible hurdles and enhance leverages to move towards a more sustainable future. And this for the long run.
We are looking for enthusiastic participants from different disciplines (e.g. agriculture, nature conservation, urban development, spatial planning), different groups (citizens, societal organisations, government, business, science) who want to share experiences, knowledge and ideas.
If you’d like to discuss shared concerns about the state of green and blue spaces, the risks for food and water safety and look for solutions in your country with a group of likeminded people, this could be something for you.
