The international training on ecosystem management for sustainable development in transboundary areas held in Korea brought together scientist and professionals from Primorsky Krai Russia to seek out collaboration with Korean partners for ecosystem management in Northeast Asia. Five Major New IPBES Assessment Reports will be launched in March 2018 during IPBES 6th Plenary in Medellin, Colombia
In March, 2018, representatives of 127 Governments will receive, for approval, five landmark assessment reports describing the state of knowledge about biodiversity, ecosystems and nature’s contributions to people.
Prepared by more than 550 leading international experts from more than 100 countries, working with the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), the evaluations cover four world regions — the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, Africa, and Europe and Central Asia, i.e. the whole world except Antarctica and the open oceans. The Orotoy River Basin, located in the department of Meta (Colombia), has 188 Km2 approx., about 5000 inhabitants and is currently a highly transformed land, vulnerable to global environmental change. This territory is a disjoint example of the general problems that affect the Colombian Orinoco, a region where conditions such as of ecosystem fragility associated with land use transformation, high demand for water resources, socially vulnerable population and weak water governance systems lead to environmental conflicts. 5th Symposium Ecosystem Services as transdisciplinary approach – ECOSERV 2018
We are pleased to announce that the Department of Integrated Geography of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań is organizing the 5th Symposium “Ecosystem Services as transdisciplinary approach” – ECOSERV 2018.
The novum is the international formula of the Symposium, which will be held under the patronage of the Ecosystem Services Partnership.
