Read on for recent developments in the ESP Brazil national network – news from BPBES, a PES project in Brazil, an upcoming conference and many new relevant publications.

Last month, São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), under the BIOTA Program, the Brazilian Platform for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (BPBES) and the Brazilian Plant-Pollinator Interactions Network (REBIPP) launched the Summary for Decision-makers of the 1st -Thematic Report on Pollinators, Pollination and Food Production in Brazil. The “São Paulo School of Advanced Science on Scenarios and Modelling on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services to Support Human Well-Being” will be held in São Pedro (190 km from São Paulo) from 01 – 15 July 2019. Applications are open until February 28th.

Rather than advancing scientific and methodological development, this School proposes to favor the interface between policy and decision making, so there will be an emphasis on the discussion of real cases. The school is organized into four modules that involve conceptual discussions, challenges, analysis of global studies and national goals in the field of biodiversity and ecosystem services.
