The call for nominations of experts to prepare the scoping document of the IPBES “Assessment of Transformative Change” and the “Thematic Assessment of the interlinkages among biodiversity, water, food and health (nexus assessment)” are now open! Interested experts wishing to be nominated are requested to fill out their application form by 15 October 2019 while nominators (governments or organizations) should approve these applications and submit their nominations by 29 October 2019.

The Institute for Geosciences and Geography of the Faculty of Natural Sciences III, Martin-Luther University Halle-Wittenberg invites applications for a W2 Professorship in “Digital Geography”, beginning at the earliest possible date.
The successful candidate will work at the interface between the application-oriented collection, evaluation and processing of geostatistical data as well as the critical analysis and interpretation of digitisation processes, and will design teaching programmes in this field.

First external review now open for the IPBES values assessment
IPBES gave a start to the external review for the first order drafts of the chapters of the IPBES methodological assessment regarding the diverse conceptualization of multiple values of nature and its contributions, including biodiversity and ecosystem functions and services (IPBES values assessment).
