The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) will run an international Summer School on the topic of ecosystems and land use change, 7-14 August 2018 located at the Campus Alpin of IMK-IFU (Garmisch-Partenkirchen). The summer school will be led by Prof. Mark Rounsevell and Prof. Almut Arneth, and it will introduce masters and doctoral students to a wide range of issues related to ecosystem functioning, socio-ecological systems and land use change by covering various topics. Toolkit for Ecosystem Service Site-based Assessment (TESSA) V2.0 Launched
A revised version of the interactive Toolkit for Ecosystem Service Site-based Assessment (TESSA) is now available online.
TESSA, developed by a consortium and with input from over 150 experts, provides guidance and methods to value ecosystem services currently provided by sites compared to their likely provision under different management decisions, thus allowing the consequences of alternative management decisions to be assessed. It promotes the collection of locally-relevant field data and the combination of qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
