2018 ESP Asia Conference, 8-12 October
The 2018 ESP Asia conference will be held from 9-12 October 2018, in Dehradun, India. The theme of the conference is “Communicating and Engaging Ecosystem Services in Policy and Practice in Asia”. 2018 DMZ International Forum, 6-7 Sept
2018 DMZ International Forum will be held on 6-7 Sept, in Gyeonggi province, Republic of Korea. This forum is jointly organized by Gyeonggi Provincial Government and ESP Asia Regional Office. The theme is “Connecting People and Nature for Peace : Protected Areas and Sustainable Development in DMZ areas”.

ES as a tool for smart solutions – a special session at Smart Geography conference

The South-East Europe Regional chapter and Bulgarian National Network of ESP are organizing a special session “Ecosystem services as a tool for smart solutions of human-environmental problems” at the International conference “Smart Geography” to be held in Sofia University, Bulgaria, 2-4 November 2018. The session aims to bring together researcher from different disciplines to discuss techniques for spatial modelling and mapping ecosystem services as well as their application in decision making. Researchers and practitioners are invited to share their experience in different spatial aspects of ecosystem services. The deadline for abstract submission is June 30. Course: ABM2018 Agent-Based Modeling for Geographical Applications

This course (20 hours) from Università di Trento provides an introduction to the concepts of agent-based modeling, a space for discussion about using this technique to investigate geographical problems and an opportunity to learn how to build and test agent-based models with the NetLogo programming language. The course will start from 12 September to 14 September, 2018. The Faculty of Environmental Sciences at the TU Dresden, Germany, invites for the PRISMA – Centre for Sustainability Assessment and Policy applications for the position of Hans Carl von Carlowitz Junior Professorship in Sustainability Assessment and Policy at the earliest possible date. The Junior Professorship carries the name of Hans Carl von Carlowitz (1645 – 1714), who is considered the founding father of sustainability.
