The University of Montana invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate to join a geographically distributed team of social scientists seeking to understand the social and institutional dimensions of wildfire in the Western US. The candidate should have a PhD in natural resource social science or a related field and be willing to work on a research project that sits at the interface between academic and applied research.
The postdoc will examine governance innovations and knowledge needs for managing wildfire risk across land tenures. The project involves close collaboration with the US Forest Service and several other universities and is supported by the USDA Forest Service Rocky Mountain Research Station.
