VESPLAN is pleased to invite you to cooperate with the SEV (Vulnerable socio-ecosystems) VESPLAN website through its dissemination and the contribution of your own photos and reflections.
This site has been created to spread cases of vulnerable communities and ecosystems, starting from Latin America but including all continents.
In order to reach the widest possible audience, the team has prioritized the visual language over the technical details. The corresponding photo galleries for each case are accompanied with very short texts and its geographical location on an interactive map. Ideally, these texts should highlight the interrelationship between ecosystem services, welfare, sources of vulnerability, and possible solutions.
Science and art provides a thoughtful and complementary perspective on ecosystems and societies that depend on them for their wellbeing. This site is intended as a visual journey through societies that are vulnerable by the loss of ecosystem services in the regions they inhabit, and the various strategies they adopt to reduce that vulnerability.
See how you can contribute here.
