Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Ecological and Ecosystem Economics. Based in Edinburgh this post will contribute to teaching on the longest running MSc programme in Ecological Economics (delivered in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh). There will also be an opportunity to contribute to our Sustainable Ecosystems Team’s wide portfolio of research including economic appraisals of agricultural and environmental policies, the valuation of ecosystem services, and the investigation complex ecological relationships in marine, forest and agro-ecosystems. As a team, we cover a wide range of national and global issues. These include:
- Identifying ways to mitigate and adapt to climate change
- Halting the decline of biodiversity
- Developing strategies to safeguard marine systems, including marine ecosystem service provision
- Sustainable management of water resources
- Understanding the attitudes and perceptions of related to these issues among rural and urban communities.
