An interdisciplinary research team from Argentina, Finland, Romania and the USA invite you to participate in a survey to better understand expert’s views about nature’s multiple values. Below a message from the research team:
We are seeking to understand expert’s views about nature’s multiple values, and specifically how experts involved in the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) compare to other professionals involved in similar efforts and networks, such as the Ecosystem Services Partnership (ESP) and the EcolEcon Network. Results of this investigation will be published in open access peer-reviewed outlets and shared with initiatives integrating diverse knowledges of nature into decision-making.
We have greatly appreciated the high level of participation in previous surveys and acknowledge that this has been done in spite of the multiple commitments on respondents’ time and energy. We hope that you will consider providing input in this final survey.
The survey aims to better understand your views about nature’s multiple values. Additionally, we seek to elucidate not only how and why values and understandings of nature differ among groups, but also advance knowledge on the role of interdisciplinary and intercultural teams in these processes. Therefore, your perspectives will allow us to understand how to improve both the personal experiences and the research outcomes for future endeavors to value nature!
Please note that this study is not an official IPBES exercise. Your participation is voluntary, and those of us who see your personal information will maintain confidentiality to the extent of laws and policies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where Human Subject Research Ethics Approval was obtained. This survey will only take about 15 minutes to complete. Personal identifiers will not be published or presented. If you have questions or concerns about your rights as a participant, please contact the UIUC Office for the Protection of Research Subjects at +1-217-333-2670 or via email at [email protected].
If you have any other questions about this study, please do not hesitate to contact us. If you choose to participate, you are thereby acknowledging your informed consent. For your convenience, this survey will be open for several weeks. Reminder emails will be sent at regular intervals. If these are a burden, simply notify us to be removed from the list.
