Ecosystems and biodiversity are still being lost and degraded at an unprecedent rate and scale causing great economic, societal and environmental damage. To stop the loss of our ‘natural capital’ the importance of its services and benefits should be reflected structurally in decision making at all levels.

ESP’s mission is to enhance the science, policy and practical application of the ecosystem services concept for better informed decision making towards a more secure and sustainable future. With the support of our member organisations we are able to bring people together and provide a global platform for knowledge exchange, networking and collaboration in the field of ecosystem services.
