Initiated by the project of the National Institute of Ecology, ESP Asia RO has been developing an ES training program targeting the Korean government officials. The training is composed of two training modules about understanding ES concept and applying ES approaches into policy planning and implementation at a local level. The first pilot training was held on 11 July in Ansan city and about 40 officials of Ansan and Siehung cities joined to learn and discuss about mainstreaming ES approaches for integrated ecosystem management. This four-hour interactive training will be demonstrated again in Gangwon Province in August and different training modules will be further developed to reflect the character of local situation and to meet the needs of participants. The outcome will be published by the end of this year.
