TESSA provides accessible guidance on low-cost methods for how to evaluate the benefits people receive from nature (ecosystem services) at particular sites (e.g.KBAs, community forests, Ramsar sites) in order to generate information that can be used to influence decision making. ACES: A Community on Ecosystem Services, along with Ecosystem Markets and the Ecosystem Services Partnership(ESP), will host the ACES 2018 Conference in Washington DC on December 3-7, 2018. Plan to attend this important meeting that provides an open forum for sharing experiences, methods, and tools for assessing and incorporating ecosystem services into public and private decisions. In July 2016, the Natural Capital Coalition released the Natural Capital Protocol, the first globally standardized framework for identifying, measuring and valuing natural capital in business. More recently, and in order to connect business with the tools they need to make better decisions, the World Business Council For Sustainable Development developed a Natural Capital Protocol Toolkit.
The 3rd international ALTER-Net conference is now open. The conference titled ‘Nature and Society: Synergies, conflicts and trade-offs’ will be held in Ghent, from 2-4 May 2017.
